Welcome to the new season of Y Dub Tri Club and congrats on an incredible first week! If you made it to all the workouts, you did 12-15 miles on the bike, over 4500 yards in the pool and ran about 8 miles! You rock!
WEEKEND WORKOUTS
Our workouts never end! If you want to join us this weekend, this is where to find us:
- Saturday Morning Bike Ride at 6:30a. This will be a two-hour(ish)/40-mile(ish) ride on Highway 421/Blueberry Road. We are tentatively set to meet at Iain Fergussen’s Highland Roofing headquarters at 3818 HWY 421. Please email reneegriffin@ec.rr.com to RSVP. And check out Iain’s website HERE.
- Sunday Morning Bike Ride from BikeCycles at 5:30a. We’ll do a 50-mile loop of the B2B half course. On the return we’ll go back and forth over the bridge by the Battleship to practice shifting gears!

TRICK OR TREAT TROT
Communities In Schools of Cape Fear announces the Second Annual Trick or Treat Trot. This USATF certified 5K, 10K and fun run take place on October 30, 2010 in downtown Wilmington!
Early registration is available HERE and by mail at $25 for certified course or $10 fun run. Day-of registration starts at 8:00 at the Harrelson Center, 20 N. 4th St and costs $35 for certified course, $20 for fun run. Checks should be made payable to Communities In Schools of Cape Fear.
Fees include t-shirt (first 150 registrants), refreshments, awards for top overall and age group finishers and for best costume.
PEAK PERFORMANCE INTENSIVE TRAINING
Success in any athletic event takes more than just physical strength. Mental toughness and mental skills are vital to you competing at your best. Most athletes agree these skills are crucial but have limited knowledge of them and how to train themselves. Build your mental muscles with training by Paul Miller, a sports coach from the UK. HALLOWEEN RIDE
Imagine....a cool, clear Fall day. Hundreds of cyclists await to take off on a crisp morning and pedal into the countryside as the day warms up. They pedal through falling leaves past picturesque farms. They pause briefly for a cold drink and homemade cookies baked with love. Finally, they reach the finish line exhausted yet energized to enjoy food, fun and fellowship with their fellow cyclists. Sound inviting? You are invited!
The "spooktacular" 2010 Cree Habitat Halloween Bike Ride benefits Habitat for Humanity of Durham. Experience scenic views of Durham County as your ride 31, 62, 100 miles. All routes are fully supported with safety support provided by the Durham County Sheriff's Office. The ride starts and finishes at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park in downtown Durham. Gear up for a ghoulish good time and compete for best costume! Teams welcome!
