BIKE WORKOUTS

We're fine tuning our last five bike sessions to gear up for the White Lake triathlons! This week we met at Independence Mall for an amazing lesson on taking corners and curves, riding tangents, leaning v. turning. Plus, we combined the lesson with a workout that included one+ mile of isolated leg drills and a time trial!

On Monday, April 11 – we’re taking it to the streets again! We'll meet at the Dillard’s lot at Independence Mall at 5:45a for interval training outdoors! The workout will last until 6:45am. You may want to bring your running shoes for a short run following the bike. In case of rain, we will meet at the YWCA at 5:45a for our regularly scheduled program.

DO SOMETHING for the DOOLITTLES

As many of you know, a teen and his dad were killed by a drunk driver this past Sunday  as they biked down River Road. They were training for a triathlon on the same road that many of us have trekked in the past. A few of us in the Tri Club know this family and our hearts break for their loss. On Sunday, April 10 from 11:00a – 1:00p, many cyclists, friends, triathletes, track teams and runners are meeting at Murray Middle School parking lot on Halyburton Memorial Parkway. The event is an effort to raise awareness for safe cycling, an end to drunk driving and is a show of support for the Doolittles.

Bring your family and your two-wheelers: beach cruisers, road bikes, tri bikes, mountain bikes [and your helmets] and be a part of this ride.

MEET AT MURRAY MIDDLE SCHOOL [555 Halyburton Memorial Parkway at Veteran’s Park] PARKING LOT SUNDAY MORNING. PLEASE JOIN US AND LET’S RAISE AWARENESS. DONATIONS WELCOME. 100% OF PROCEEDS WILL GO TO THE DOOLITTLE FAMILY.

There is a group riding from BikeCycles on Sunday at 9:00am to Murray Middle School for the Memorial Ride. Sami Winter is a part of the ride and planning to ride 30-40 miles after the memorial. Many will make it an out and back - and head back to BikeCycles.
