TRAFFIC SKILLS CLINIC - MARK YOUR CALENDAR
The Wrightsville Beach Police and Parks and Recreation Departments have teamed up to offer a Traffic Skills 101 course created by the League of American Bicyclists. This effort was prompted by recent tragic accidents in the area involving bicycles and motor vehicles. The course is designed to give cyclists the confidence they need to ride safely and legally in traffic or on the trail. With the approaching holiday season often comes new bicycles and more bikes on the road. Our goal is to educate the cyclist, as well as the cyclist/driver of the rules for bicycling in traffic in hopes of preventing future accidents.
Traffic Skills 101 is a two-day course to be held Friday evening March 23, 2012, 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, March 24, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Day 1 is the indoor training followed by the practical training portion of the course to be held outdoors on Day 2. If you have any further questions, please contact Katie Ryan at 910.256.7925.
