News for April 19, 2013

BIKING NEWS -------

BIKE CLINIC: Mark your calendar for Monday, April 22 at 6:00pm. Come to learn how to improve your cycling efficiency! Greg Koenig is hosting this clinic at Fitness for Life and will demo SPINSCAN on the CompuTrainer.  SPINSCAN is the world's first pedal stroke analyzer. It will help you see -- in real time --- if you're favoring one leg over the other or if you're pedaling in even circles! It will help pinpoint aspects that are critical to efficient performance.

We need at least EIGHT participants to hold this breakthrough clinic.   CLICK HERE to reserve your spot and enter the drawing be the SPINSCANee! DEADLINE to rsvp is FRIDAY [TODAY!] @ 5pm.

END OF SEASON NEWS  -------
We're having a POOL PARTY!  Please Note that Tuesday, April 30 is our last tri club workout of the season!  The YWCA will be taking the bubble down for the summer later that week and we'll be wrapping up our club's coached workouts.
As in the past, we're holding an end-of-season breakfast on that Tuesday, April 30  after the swim. The swim starts at 5:30am. We'll do a 45 minute workout and break for food and fellowship around 6:15. Traditionally, we've had coffee, juice, fruits, bagels, muffins and more coffee. If you'd like to sign up to bring a light item please CLICK HERE!

That last week, we will meet on Monday for yoga with Holly Konrady and for the swim/pool party and breakfast. There will be no other coached workouts that week.

WORKOUT NEWS  -------
BIKE ON MONDAY: Weather permitting, we will be riding outdoors on Monday, April 22! Meet at the Dillards lot at 5:45a for a 6:00a ride. We're working on intervals and bike handling. You must bring a helmet. Lights are optional. Please bring your run gear if you'd like a 15 minute transition run after the ride! Please CLICK HERE to let me know you're coming - in case we need to make a rain plan!

STRENGTH WORKOUT NEXT WEEK -- Your help is needed on Friday, May 3 at 4:00pm and Saturday, May 4 at 9:00am. You can volunteer to cover the pool with a tarp on Friday evening or help remove the bubble on Saturday, starting at 9:00am!
CONGRATULATIONS ----------

WOW! to Ben Bowie and Lawrence Landrigan! Their finishes at the White Lake Half Iron on April 6 gave an entirely new meaning to ENDURANCE. They battled very cold (54 degree) choppy waters, migrating buoys, HWY 53 road patches, sunburn and even a little marathon fatigue thrown in.
